OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – The residents of 6000 Penn Place would love to spend these dog days of summer cooling off at the pool, but their summer hot spot is closed.

"I just see a crumbled up pool. Just cement and rocks," Property manager Kim Morgeson described how the crew with A Perfect Pool left the job in early June.

Back in May, the homeowners association used residents' dues to pay the Norman company a $10,000 down payment to re-plaster the pool. They expected to jump in again by mid-June.

"Oh, everybody's mad. Everybody's mad," Morgeson said. "A lot of people rent here for the pool. They buy here. It's a huge incentive."

And the last time resident John Swinney heard from A Perfect Pool owner, Dana Carrothers, he told Swinney," "He's going to get right on it. Have a full crew here the next day."

Instead, he was a no show.

"It's kind of a downer for the summer," resident Tina Adkins said.

"I have grandchildren," resident Wayne Peeler said. "They are disappointed because they come see us and, of course, expect to play at the pool."

Everyone at 6000 Penn just wants to enjoy what they paid for so they called our Consumer Watch Team. And we called the owner of A Perfect Pool. We left several messages. While he didn't call us, he did contact those at the condo. They say he told them he'd finish it if we didn't do the story. So for the time being, we held off to give him a chance to do the right thing.

It took another month, but we're happy to report, the pool is complete.

"We appreciate the interest that Channel 9 has showed us," Swinney said.
