TULSA, Oklahoma --  Gold prices are the highest they've ever been, closing in on $1,900 dollars an ounce.  That has many Oklahomans scrambling to sell off their old jewelry.

They're bringing in everything from class rings, broken earrings and coins to places like Tulsa Gold and Gems.

The folks at the store have never seen the line so long.  And they think the price is going to continue to rise.

"It could always change, but in my opinion, we've got a ways to go.  It's going to keep going up," said Spencer Fisher, from Tulsa Gold and Gems.

All of the items are tested to determine the amount of gold inside.  Customers may feel sentimental about the items they bring in, but that changes when they discover how much cash they can get.

It's one bright spot in an otherwise gloomy economy.
