COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Ten days after being given sole power to explore conference options by the Texas A&M Board of Regents, TAMU R. Bowen Loftin sent a letter to Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe saying he is looking at other conferences

The letter states that, while the school is not withdrawing right now, but that they are "exploring our options" and cites the media and fan speculation about the university's conference future.

The letter states that if Texas A&M does withdraw from the Big 12, that it was his and the university's desire "to do so in a way that complies with the Bylaws and is supportive of your efforts to add a new team to the conference."

Loftin closes the address with a request for the commissioner to outline the process for the school if it should choose to leave the conference.
