TULSA, Oklahoma -- Police say Tuesday's double homicide at 71st near Riverside was not random. They say the victims knew the suspect, and all three were involved in the narcotics world.

Detectives worked around the clock and had their suspect in custody less than 12 hours after officers found the two victims shot to death in a parking lot.

Police say this arrest was a huge team effort involving detectives, the Violent Crimes Task Force and street officers.  And they say it didn't hurt that the suspect dropped an armload of evidence at the scene.

Police say Zane Atchison was on a stolen motorcycle Tuesday night when he ran into a man he was angry with at the QuikTrip on 71st street.

The man was Pat Shawn.  Shawn had a girl with him named Kaylyn Kosofsky.  Detectives say they agreed to meet Atchison in the church parking lot next door, a decision that proved deadly.

"The suspect, Atchison, proceeds to shoot through the driver's window, which kills the girl and kills the driver, the male driver," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker.

Police say Atchison's get away got all jacked up.

First, his stolen motorcycle wouldn't start. Then he grabbed Pat Shawn, threw him on the ground and stole the car with Kaylyn dead in the seat next to him. Police say Atchison then drove down a dead end street.

Finally, police say he hopped out and ran, leaving behind the stolen motorcycle, the helmet, a backpack and the gun.

"He left several pieces of evidence," Walker said.

Officers talked to the owner of the motorcycle who picked Atchison out of a line-up, plus they made other connections.

They worked all night tracking him until he stole a truck.  After a chase, police arrested Atchison Wednesday morning.  Detectives say they were on the case, full steam, around the clock from the moment they got the call.

"It is non-stop; it is hectic. We have detectives in a small space, yelling, back and forth, 'here's what I got, here's what I found,'" Walker said.

Prison records say Atchison is currently on a suspended sentence for burglary.

On his Facebook page, he says he loves his wife Jordan and their child Junior. The page also says Atchison attended both Jenks and Union.

The girl who was killed, Kaylyn Kosofsky, is listed as one of his friends. Her Facebook page says she went to Jenks and liked to travel.

Records show she pleaded guilty to a drug charge last fall and as part of her deferred sentence was ordered to get treatment.

The man whose motorcycle was stolen a couple of weeks ago and used in Tuesday night's double murder was selling it so he could buy an engagement ring.

He had posted it on Craigslist, and it was stolen when he met the prospective buyer in a parking lot a couple of weeks ago.  He hopes to get his bike back, so he can go ahead with his plans to propose.
