Tulsa Experiences Record High And Low Temps In Two-Week Time Span

TULSA, Oklahoma – Parts of eastern Oklahoma experienced record high temperatures in August and record cold temperatures in September.

According to the National Weather Service, Tulsa has set low temperature records for September 6th and 7th.

It was 48 degrees Tuesday morning, breaking a record of 52 degrees set in 1974.  Wednesday the low temperature was 49 degrees, one degree cooler than the previous record low of 50 set on September 7, 1918.

On August 24, 2011 Tulsa set a high temperature record of 108 degrees, which was one degree hotter than the daytime high on the same day in 1936.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says it's been quite a change in one week's time.

"It's hard to imagine that one week ago we were dealing with highs over 100, and just two weeks ago the highs were from 104 to 108 across the area," said Alan Crone.

He says this great weather should last into the weekend.
