TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma -- The selection of a grand jury will begin Monday, September 12, 2011 in a Cherokee County courtroom in Tahlequah, to investigate the 2004 disappearance and possible death of Stephen Adams.

Adams was last seen on December 13, 2004, after taking a test at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. That same day, Adams called his girlfriend and said he was taking a man to Keys, but hasn't been heard from since.

On July 1, 2011, Stephen's father, Carl Adams, filed the grand jury petition with Cherokee County.

The selection of a grand jury begins Monday at 9 a.m.

Cherokee County DA Brian Kuester has set up a dedicated phone line for people to call if they believe they have pertinent information for the grand jury.

The number is 918-605-9817.

Kuester says once impaneled, the grand jury will tour the county jail and review several other issues before getting to the petitioner's request pertaining to Stephen Adams.

He expects the grand jury will start addressing the Adams investigation either late Tuesday or Wednesday.
