STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma State Cowboys will travel to Tulsa Saturday for the first time in 11 years, a period of time that has seen the quality of both programs increase.

Since facing each other in 2000, OSU has won 77 games and Tulsa has won 72. The Cowboys are coming off one of their best years in school history and currently are ranked in the Top 10 in the nation, while Tulsa still is trying to find its identity under new head coach Bill Blankenship.

"They do a great job at TU of just finding football players," said former TU assistant coach Jason Jones, who now coaches at OSU. "It's not a roster full of five-star or four-star [recruits], but it's guys that just love to play football. That's the same thing that we try to find."

While OSU is the hotter team at the moment, the Cowboys have lost five of their last seven trips to Tulsa.

"Saturday, you gotta go ask them to play hard and have some fun," OSU head coach Mike Gundy said. "But if they've prepared well and they've absorbed information that's going to help them on Saturday, then you have a chance to win."
