OKLAHOMA CITY -- Three of Oklahoma's finest are among the latest killed in the war on terror.

Sergeant Bret Isenhower, Specialist Christopher Horton and Private First Class Tony Potter, Junior died Friday as enemy forces attacked their unit.

All three men were assigned to Oklahoma's 45th Infantry Brigade. That brings the number of Oklahoma soldiers killed within the past month to ten.

It is news that's heartbreaking to hear and has many of Oklahomans asking what we can do to help their families. That's exactly what an Edmond, Oklahoma woman was asking as well.

Shari White isn't a military wife. But she knows many of the wives of the 45th Infantry never intended to be either.

Nine of the ten soldiers killed were civilian soldiers.

"They volunteer one weekend a month, two weeks a year and occasionally they're called into service," said White. "But it's very unusual for a National Guardsman to be called out of the country."

Yet, those soldiers have given their lives and White said now it's our turn to give to them. She is raising money for their children to help with expenses until they turn 18.

"Their family members have made a huge sacrifice for them and for all of us," White explained.

Families of the soldiers still fighting have made a sacrifice too. Many are struggling financially because of lost wages. White said they need our help as well.

"It's not because of something they did wrong, it's something that is very, very right and for that reason people in the community need to come together and fill in that gap for these families while they're doing that for us," White said.

White is also organizing an event for all the family members of the 45th infantry so they can get to know each other and support each other.
