JENKS, Oklahoma – A man who police say stabbed the owner of a truck he was attempting to break into has been charged.
Brook Wheeler, 31, has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and 2nd degree burglary in connection with the robbery and stabbing of a Jenks man in July.

Wheeler was picked up August 18th, 2011 on a separate charge, but was just recently charged in the Jenks case.
Police say Wheeler was breaking into a truck in Jenks back in July when the 22-year-old owner surprised him.
Police say Wheeler stabbed the victim in the back of the neck, possibly with a screwdriver, and then took off.
The victim, named Austin, laid on the ground, bleeding and yelling for help, for about 30 minutes until a passing driver stopped.
Austin is expected to make a full recovery.
Wheeler remains in the Tulsa County Jail.
