LOGAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A Guthrie woman and her unidentified passenger are dead following a two-car collision in Logan County. The fatality collision took place at 3:19 p.m. on State Highway 74 just north of Charter Oak.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Aimee Pando of Guthrie was driving northbound on the highway when her car left the roadway to the right. She overcorrected, and the car crossed the center line, striking an oncoming pickup head on.

The front seat passenger was also killed. Troopers have not released the name of the second fatality, pending notification of family.

A 1-year-old child in the car survived the wreck. Troopers credited the car seat with saving the boy's life.

The other driver, 35-year-old Norman resident Kyle McGehee, sustained massive injuries in the wreck. He has been hospitalized in serious condition.

The Deer Creek Fire Department freed Pando and the unidentified passenger after they were pinned for just over three hours.

Pando's condition at the time of the wreck is under investigation, according to the OHP.
