Another Nice Day

Posted: Updated:

There's not a lot to add to the forecast at this point:  super nice today with highs in the lower 80s.

The morning readings are once again in the 40s and 50s due to clear sky and light wind.  Temperatures are dropping to just above your local dewpoints and this is making for another really nice morning.  The kids will need the jacket but the warm up today will be faster and a little more robust than yesterdays readings.

A mid level ridge of high pressure to our west is slowly nudging in our direction and this will allow for slightly warmer temperatures in the 5k ft level of the atmosphere.  This warmer air will also be present Wednesday with highs nearing 90 before another front arrives either late Wednesday evening or sometime Thursday.  The data continues to support a faster solution but either way, no rain is expected across the northern part of the state.  A few showers or storms may be possible across far southwestern or southern OK, but this is also a stretch.

The temperatures behind the boundary will be seasonably mild with morning lows in the 50s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s.

As stated here yesterday, I think the pattern will be changing by the first full week in October.  A major upper level trough will be forming and allow for an unsettled pattern through at least Oct 10th.
