TULSA, Oklahoma -- A dispute between neighbors during a late night get together led to an east Tulsa shooting Saturday. The shooting took place at about 2:15 a.m. in the 10800 block of East 33rd Court.

Tulsa police say the shooting victim was in his yard with some friends when the woman who lives next door called him over to her driveway.

The man walked over to speak to his neighbor, and they got into an altercation, according to Tulsa Police Sergeant Eric Nelson. Another man came out of the woman's house carrying a rifle and joined the argument.

The shooting victim, described as a 25-year-old Indian male, ran from the driveway. He was struck at least once in the back, police say.

The man with the rifle – identified as Lance Vildie Wright - left the scene in a white SUV. He ditched the rifle in a parking lot, but police stopped him about a quarter mile from the scene and recovered the weapon.

Wright, 32, was booked into Tulsa County Jail on complaints of shooting with intent to kill. Wright already had two October court dates scheduled in several charges including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license and child restraint violations.

The victim underwent surgery at a Tulsa hospital and is expected to recover. Wright is being held on a $76,000 bond.
