CLAREMORE, Oklahoma -- The football game Friday at Claremore Sequoyah came after an important ceremony which had a lot of students waiting cheering.

Tori Renfrow missed school Friday for a hair appointment and a manicure. It's a long process getting ready for a night like this, and it wouldn't be complete without the right dress.

"And she walked through the entire store and she probably tried 15 dresses on. Funny thing is, the first dress she tried on is the one she picked," said her mom, Rachelle Renfrow.

Tori needed that dress because she's the 9th grade Carnival Queen at her school. Her classmates at Claremore Sequoyah voted on it - and they picked her.

"See her walking through the hall, she's always got a smile on her face, she tells you how pretty you look today, she wants everybody else to feel good," said LaDonna Chancellor, Sequoyah Mid High Principal.

As word spread about the carnival queen, people stepped in to return the good feelings, setting her up with everything a young girl needs to be queen for a night.

Friday just before the football game, Tori and the other carnival royalty were crowned. It capped off two weeks of anticipation and kicked off a night she'll never forget

"It's just really amazing to see people give to her the way that they have and it's probably going to be the most special day she ever has," Rachelle said.

Her mom says she'll never forget the honor and the memories Tori's classmates are giving her.

"That means a lot, it tells me they think a lot of her and she's really changed them too," she said.

And without many words - Tori can say it all with a smile.
