Charlie Hannema joined the News On 6 team in July 2011 as a sports anchor and reporter. 

Before moving to Green Country, Hannema was a sports reporter at CBS affiliate KOLN/KGIN in Lincoln, Neb., and a sports anchor at the CBS and FOX affiliates in Springfield, Mo. 

His work has been honored with first-place awards by the Great Plains Associated Press, and the Missouri Broadcasters Association.

Hannema holds a degree from the University of Missouri school of journalism, and interned at ESPN's worldwide headquarters in Connecticut while in college.  He started his career as a sports reporter and fill-in anchor at KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri.

In his free time, you can find him trying to stay out of the woods at golf courses in the Tulsa area, or watching a baseball game.  Charlie and his fiance traveled to Maui to get married in January 2012.
