ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Rogers County Sheriff's Office is looking for a driver who fired into the cab of a semi truck in a road rage incident Saturday. The bullet narrowly missed a passenger who was asleep in the cab's bed.

The trucker told deputies he was on his way back to New Jersey on Highway 412 when he changed lanes to enter the Will Rogers Turnpike. He moved into the right lane in front of the pickup.

The driver of the pickup then pulled alongside the truck. The men exchanged hand gestures, and the pickup truck driver pulled out a gun and shot the side of the semi cab, according to a Rogers County Sheriff's Office news release.

The trucker said the bullet went through the side of the cab, hit a broom handle and landed on the bed next to the head of his sleeping driving partner.

The pickup exited south on 265th East Avenue then went east on Admiral. The trucker tried to get the driver's tag number but could only identify it as an Oklahoma tag.

The pickup truck driver is described as an older man wearing a ball cap and glasses. The Toyota was described as a 1998 to 2000 model Toyota T100. It was green with a green camper on the bed.

The trucker reported the crime to deputies at Bruce's Truck Stop in Rogers County,

Anyone who can help Rogers County Sheriff's Office with this crime is asked to call the Sheriff's Tip Line at 918-341-3620.
