TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Transit unveiled 15 new city buses which run on compressed natural gas Friday morning.

Officials say the new buses will help Tulsa Transit leave less of a carbon footprint in Tulsa, because they will retire 15 buses which run on diesel fuel.

Tulsa Transit will be getting more of these fixed-route buses in an effort to save fuel costs.

Tulsa Transit general manager Bill Cartwright says these buses are the first of the agency's fixed-route buses that will run on compressed natural gas instead of diesel.

He says changes to the fleet should help Tulsa Transit save money and help with the environment.
