OWASSO, Oklahoma -- A 4-year-old Owasso boy is dead in what is being called a tragic accident Monday morning at a home in Rogers County east of Owasso.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. on private property.

Troopers say a New Mexico man, the boy's grandfather was backing his SUV out of a driveway in the 7200 block of 197th East Avenue when the boy ran behind the SUV and was struck.

Colby Goldstein was being taken to an Owasso hospital in a private vehicle.

Owasso Fire and Police met the private vehicle at 76th Street North and 129th East Avenue.  He was pronounced dead before they could transport him on to the hospital.
