Fake Kidnapping Story Leads To A Federal Charge For A Tulsa Woman
TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa woman who lied to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the FBI about being kidnapped from a Tulsa casino is now facing a federal charge.
Ashley Kahn talked with News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright and admitted she made up the kidnapping story.
Kahn was involved in a single vehicle crash on I-244 in the early hours of October 13, 2011. She told the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a man had grabbed her outside the casino, shoved her into her car and then crashed her car.
On Tuesday, authorities arrested Kahn at the Tulsa County jail where she was visiting her boyfriend. She was charged with "providing a false statement."
Following a hearing in Tulsa federal court, Kahn was released on $5,000 bond.
Kahn could still face charges in Tulsa County District Court.
