OWASSO, Oklahoma -- Some Green Country Cub Scouts are sending a little something from home to our servicemen and women overseas. The boys helped the Tri-County Blue Star Mothers of Owasso box-up care packages for troops Saturday.

Some Owasso Cub Scouts with Pack 88 and their siblings donated their time and smiles to help Blue Star Mothers with care packages.

"I just felt it was the right thing to help out for the military," said Cub Scout Nathan Kerr. "They've done so much for us."

They packed up breakfast items in boxes for troops and toiletries in gift bags for new recruits. These items are going to people like Dillon, Lisa and Kyle as well as a hundred others currently serving overseas.

"You always want to help them out really, because without them, we wouldn't be free," said Cub Scout Justin Mann.

"You should support them because they help a lot. We get our freedom because they're fighting for us," said Ryan Pennington, a Cub Scout who was helping to pack the boxes.

All the Blue Star Mothers have a child or grandchild in the military. Kimberly Graham's son, Jake, just finished basic training and is almost through with paratrooper training.

Graham is so proud, she's emotional.

"He's my baby," Graham said. "He has been wanting to be in the military since he was little, since he could walk."

The Blue Star Mothers' main purpose is to support each other and their loved ones who are serving, especially during deployments.

Graham says to see a group of young kids willing to offer their support to that cause is incredibly moving.

"It's just incredible because you see that same selflessness in them that steered a lot of them to go off in the military in the first place," said Kimberly Graham of the Tri-County Blue Star Mothers.

The troops will get those packages in December
