Jamie Oberg joined the News 9 team in October of 2011. She is so excited to live in the heart of Oklahoma, and share the stories that matter to you.

Most recently, Jamie was reporting news right down the red-dirt road from OKC, covering Tulsa and news all over Green Country.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Jamie grew up in the small town of Basehor, Kansas.

She feels right at home here in the Sooner State, though this Kansas State University graduate will be cheering on her Wildcats during football and basketball seasons.

Jamie knows Oklahomans won't hold that against her because she's seen how much OSU and OU fans across the state love their teams too. It's that same community spirit and passion she loves to capture and share in her news stories.

Before moving to Oklahoma, Jamie was a reporter and fill-in anchor in Cedar Rapids Iowa. She saw community spirits truly put to the test during the historic floods of 2008 and an E-F5 tornado that tore apart the small town of Parkersburg, IA.

In the two years she worked there, she also got to share the stories of hope and rebuilding, as Iowans showed the nation the Midwestern way to come back and shine brighter after severe weather strikes home.

Stop and say hi, as you will likely run into Jamie reporting news live for News9 at 4 and 5. Jamie is pretty easy to talk to, so don't be surprised if she chats you up for a few minutes or more, by 6 p.m. news time, she hopes to share your amazing story or at least gain a new friend in Oklahoma for sure.
