TULSA, Oklahoma -- Doug Wojcik decided to keep it mainly local for this year's recruiting class.

Wojcik and the Tulsa basketball team signed three players to letters of intent for the first day of the early signing period.

Two of the three are from Oklahoma, with the third, Zeldric King, from Cedar Hill High School in Texas.

Wojcik got a letter of intent from Edmond Memorial guard James Woodard. The 6-4 guard is one of the state's top recruits and is a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com. Woodard averaged 13.7 points and 6.7 rebounds last year as a junior.

"James will play on the perimeter as a wing player," Wojcik said. "He will primarily play the 2 and 3 positions and maybe down the road the point."

Tulsa's second in-state signee is D'Andre Wright of Lawton Eisenhower. Wright, a 6-9 forward, would be considered a four-year starter if it weren't for an injury during his junior season. Wright broke his leg in the first game of the 2010-11 season.

He averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore.

"D'Andre will be a great defender, rebounder and post guy, but the difference with him is that he is a 4-man able to shoot the 3-ball," Wojcik said.

King is a 6-7 forward from Cedar Hill, Texas who averaged 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds his junior year.

"Zeldrick is the icing on the cake in this class because he is a very multi-purpose player," Wojcik said. "He's big and strong enough to play inside, but is skilled enough to play on the perimeter. He is a difference-maker, a match-up nightmare."

The Golden Hurricane opens the 2011 regular season at home against Arkansas-Little Rock on Friday at 7 p.m.
