Stolen School Bus Wrecked On Rogers County Road

A stolen school bus was found wrecked in a Rogers County ditch early Saturday morning.

Authorities were called to the scene at about 5 a.m. after someone saw the bus off 480 Road just east of the Verdigris River.

The bus was westbound when the driver apparently lost control on a curve. There was a long stretch of skid marks before the vehicle crashed through the guardrail to the right and overturned in a gully.

When emergency crews arrived, there was no sign of the driver or any passengers. Authorities learned the bus had been stolen from the Northeast Technology Center in Claremore.

The bus was badly damaged.
