Two suspects sought by Tulsa Police in a shooting outside the AutoZone at 51st and Peoria late Tuesday morning are in the Craig County jail.

Vinita Police say 28-year-old Luis Fernando Perez-Gomez of Tulsa and 19-year-old Katelyn Michelle Boggs of Broken Arrow were arrested after a confrontation with Vinita Police and an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.

Police say a convenience store clerk called Vinita Police at 3 a.m. Wednesday about two suspects sitting in a car outside his store.

The clerk working at the Woodshed convenience store in Vinita says a man was outside with a car, while a woman kept coming into the store, looking around and asking random questions.

She says the woman claimed she was wanted in Missouri and finally made her so uncomfortable, she called police.

"Something kept telling me they were going to try to do something, something's going to happen," said Amanda, convenience store clerk.

A Vinita officer and an OHP trooper showed up and Amanda thought it would be no big deal, but then things went crazy.

"I don't know how it happened, but another cop ended up fighting with the guy and she tried to run over the highway patrol," Amanda said. "She just barely missed him."

They arrested Luiz Perez-Gomez and Katelyn Boggs. News On 6 didn't find a criminal history on her, but Perez-Gomez is an ex-con who served eight months of a two year sentence for drugs.

The officer who made the arrest also found a gun, which they believe was used to shoot a Tulsa man in the AutoZone parking lot 12 hours earlier.

"This sort of thing is scary. It's a random person, walking in a random place, picked randomly. This is the type of stuff you can't explain whatsoever," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Brandon Watkins.

The clerk had no idea her phone call would lead to such a big arrest, but she's glad she followed her gut instinct and her manager's advice, to call police if she ever felt uncomfortable.

The AutoZone shooting victim is out of surgery and is expected to be released from a Tulsa hospital in 7 to 10 days.
