A Sand Springs Middle school teacher creates a project each year to teach his students about manufacturing and teamwork. This year, Oklahoma Honor Flights will benefit.

Every year Steve Biggs comes up with a project for his eighth graders. Wednesday morning, veterans and folks from Oklahoma Honor Flights were there because proceeds from the project will benefit honor flights.

The students cut, drilled, sand and painted wooden airplanes, complete with little propellers. They're making four different models: gold, black, gold and black and a special Honor flights commemorative model. All the veterans who came in to help got one to take home.

The kids should have the project wrapped up by Friday. They'll sell them around school and then donate the money to Honor Flights.
