Police say three men and one woman were arrested Tuesday after leading them on a high-speed chase in a stolen car.

The pursuit began at about 1 p.m. when an officer spotted the car going approximately 60 mph on 11th Street near Highway 169.  Police say the driver, Melissa Powell, drove off when the officer attempted to make a traffic stop.

During the chase, the car sideswiped another vehicle at 11th and Garnett before one of the passengers bailed.  Powell continued east on 11th where the two remaining passengers also jumped out of the car.

Police say the chase then became even more dangerous when Powell got onto the Creek Turnpike going north in the southbound lanes.  Police say that's when they decided to terminate the pursuit.

"We were hoping that she would come back over to the northbound lanes — instead she chose to continue head-on into traffic," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Robert Rohloff.

Catoosa Police eventually caught up with the driver at Pine and the Creek Turnpike where she crashed the car in a ditch.  Police arrested the 21-year-old woman after a short foot pursuit.

Police say one of the passengers had a felony warrant and all claimed to be homeless.  Police say the four may have been committing burglaries in the area.
