HARRAH, Oklahoma -

Two burglary suspects are behind bars after they led an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy on a high speed pursuit in Harrah on Thanksgiving Day.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a deputy noticed a pickup truck being driven without a brake light near Southeast 29th Street and Pottawatomie Road. The deputy attempted to stop the truck, but it took off at a high rate of speed. The truck allegedly ran several stop signs and traveled into the oncoming lane.

Deputies said the truck then broke down at Southeast 59th and Pottawatomie Road. The driver, 33-year-old David Mendenhall, and the passenger, 33-year-old Daniel Burns, were both taken into custody immediately.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and found a shotgun and knives that were stolen earlier in the day from a house in Harrah.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Mendenhall is currently being held on  $11,000 bail and is facing complaints of second-degree burglary, driving with a suspended license, concealing stolen property, aggravated attempting to elude, and possession of a weapon while committing a felony.

Burns is being held on $11,000 bail and is facing complaints of second-degree burglary, concealing stolen property, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.
