Two University of Tulsa seniors-- quarterback G.J. Kinne and linebacker Alan Dock have been selected to the Conference-USA All-Academic Team.
The 12-member team was selected Friday by the league office and consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better are a starter or key reserve on their team.
For Kinne, it is his third-straight academic team honor of his career. Kinne is an exercise sports science major who graduated last spring with a 3.27 GPA and is working on a second degree in sports management.
Kinne has started 37 consecutive games and is 23-14 in those games for TU. He ranks second in school history in total offensive yards ((10,617) and TD passes thrown (78) and is third on the school's career passing yards (9,258) list.
The Gilmer, Texas native, has 14 career 300+ passing games and this year Kinne has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 2,876 yards and 25 TDs, while throwing for 300+ passing yards five times.
Dock, who graduated last May with a degree in accounting with a 3.63 grade point average, is currently working on his master's degree in business.
The 5'11" linebacker from Giddings, Texas, is in his first year as a starter for the Golden Hurricane. In 12 games, Dock has collected 68 tackles, 2.5 stops for -14 yards, two interceptions, two pass break-ups and one forced fumble this year. He has tallied 88 tackles in 41 career games.
