Snow Chances Diminish Across Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

The National Weather Service says snow chances have diminished across Oklahoma.

Forecasters say most of the precipitation that's coming Sunday into Monday will be over far south-central and southeast Oklahoma, where the temperatures are expected to be too warm for snow.

Some light snow is possible to develop from light rain in southern Oklahoma late Sunday night and early Monday, but no accumulations are expected to result.

News On 6 Meteorologist Dick Faurot says winter precipitation chances have been dropped to less than 50 percent for Monday, and that should be mostly in the form of light rain.

Rain will persist across the south east counties, which could produce some localized flooding problems, Faurot says.

Late Monday and early Tuesday, a weak storm system could produce snow flurries over far northwest Oklahoma. Again, no accumulations are expected.

Temperatures will be below normal pretty much all week and going into the coming weekend.
