STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- After a tight first half, the Hennessey Eagles claimed their second consecutive Gold Ball Saturday, topping the Jones Longhorns 21-7 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.

Both defenses played stout in the first quarter and went into the second with a scoreless tie, which lasted nearly all of the second quarter as well. With just two minutes remaining in the first half thanks to a one-yard touchdown run by quarterback Trey Leu to take a 7-0 advantage.

The Longhorns answered back thanks to a big catch and run by Tylor Seabolt, going 33 yards for a score to tie the game five minutes into the third quarter. However, those would be the last points scored by the Longhorns.

Three minutes later, Leu called his own number yet again and scored from two-yards out to take a 14-7 lead, which would hold into the fourth quarter.

Jones attempted a comeback, but with just five minutes left to play, Ivan Moreno scored from two yards out to make it a two-score advantage and essentially close the game out for the Eagles.

The win by Hennessey marked just the second Gold Ball for the Eagles, while the loss kept Jones from claiming its first championship in school history.
