Name Of OKC Man Killed In Collision With Ambulance Released

Police have released the name of the man who died after a collision Saturday involving an ambulance.

Fidel Mesa-Solis, 43, died in the collision which occurred at N.W. 10 Street and May Avenue around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10.

Police said Mesa-Solis was driving a car with no passengers when it collided with the EMSA ambulance. The ambulance was en route to a medical call.

An EMSA spokesperson said the emergency medical technician who was driving the ambulance and another paramedic onboard were not injured. Both were placed on leave pending the outcome of a police and internal EMSA investigation. A student, who was also aboard the ambulance, was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
