Tulsa police are searching for two men who impersonated Tulsa Police officers before robbing a couple at gunpoint.

It happened late Monday morning in the 1500 block of West Admiral. Frances Vogel said her husband and two friends had just gotten home a little before 11 a.m. Monday. She heard doors slam and men shouting and at first thought someone was joking with them, until she saw the guns.

Two bold robbers took advantage of a quiet Monday morning to wreak havoc in Frances Vogel's home.

"I hear the doors slamming. Two male voices saying 'Tulsa Police everyone down on the floor,'" Vogel said.

Vogel said she was in the back bedroom when she heard the commotion. She said one man came back, ripped her up off the floor, and dragged her to the living room where the others were laying face-down.

"Mostly the only thing going through my head was hearing a click and then a loud bang," Vogel said.

She said the men were dressed in dark clothes and wore masks. She said they stole the rent money, cell phones, a play station, controller, games and iPods.

"I mean they walked around the place like they owned it. Handed me a bag and had me pack up my stuff for them," Vogel said.

And they were violent.

"Out of the corner of my eye, I saw one guy get kicked in the ribs. I mean full soccer goalie kick in the ribs. As they walked by they stepped on our hands," Vogel said.

The robbers grabbed their goods and took off in the family's only vehicle. Vogel's husband found the car abandoned in a nearby alley Monday afternoon.

Vogel said she's still in shock. She said she's thankful her 11-year-old daughter wasn't home at the time. Thankful they have their car back. But police told her recovering the other stolen items is unlikely.

Vogel said she's never seen the men before in her life. She said the adult men were average height and weight.

Police are asking for your help. If you know anything that can help them, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
