DEWEY, Oklahoma -

Two train locomotives belonging to the Southern Kansas Oklahoma Railroad derailed Wednesday morning at a crossing in the Washington County community of Dewey.

Dewey city manager Kevin Trease says the crossing at 9th Streets is closed after the northbound locomotives ran off the tracks.

Railroad crews have been working since Wednesday morning to put the locomotives back on the tracks.

No one was injured and Trease says motorists are asked to avoid the area until the crossing is reopened to traffic.

9th Street crossing is expected to be closed until Thursday morning.
