OKLAHOMA CITY – It's been a long time coming for NBA fans waiting to see something, anything somewhat resembling an NBA game.

At this point in an average NBA season, nearly two months of basketball would have already been played.

So it was a sight for sore eyes on Friday night when the Thunder took the court at Putnam City West High School for an intrasquad scrimmage.

The gym was certainly packed and the OKC players didn't disappoint. Kevin Durant's active participation in everything this summer from streetball to flag football helped him stay in shape as he looked as solid as ever.

Young players such as Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Serge Ibaka continued to show their improvement from last season.

But perhaps the biggest change on the court was the slimmer, more athletic Kendrick Perkins.

At one point, Perkins intercepted a long Westbrook pass and dribbled the length of the court, splitting defenders on his way to a layup.

The Thunder will have two preseason games – one at Dallas and one in Oklahoma City against the Mavs – before opening regular season play on Christmas Day at home against Orlando.
