The Tulsa Low Rider's club trotted the streets of North Tulsa for the seventh annual Toys for Tots Horseback Ride.

It may not have been the clip clop of the hooves of Santa's reindeer, but there were sounds of a community making sure it's children have a Merry Christmas.

The President of the Tulsa Low Rider's horseback riding club thought if they can have Toys for Tots on motorcycles why not have Toys for Tots with horses?

So Wiley Williams helped organize the toy round-up. He says the first year there were a dozen who braved a bitter cold toy ride.

"We wanted to start something so we can give something to the kids that are unfortunate to not get anything," Williams said.

The sun shone on the pony ride Saturday as the horseback riding clubs moseyed over to the Cowboys on the Fence Arena.

"Feels good. Feels good to be out with the group riding and enjoying yourself," Charlie Chiles said.

Riders lassoed up toys to donate to the North Cincinnati Salvation Army.

"It's just giving back to the community. It's giving back. And being able to see so many people get together to have a good time," said Sherry Heath.

Some rode double, some rode triple

"It's beautiful scenery," Williams said. "Makes me feel good. We deliver and see the kids smiling. Makes me feel even better."

Nearly 90 horses hoofed it to the North Mabee Center to deliver the Christmas cheer.
