Gas Break Prompts Evacuation Of North Tulsa Neighborhood

A four inch natural gas line that had ruptured near Atlanta and Archer Wednesday was shut off.

The break happened around 3:30 p.m. and forced the evacuation of one square block. That area includes the Crosstown Learning Center. All the children were moved a safe distance away.

Firefighters say a construction crew in the area had accidentally cut the line.

Crews say there was just enough wind for the gas to dissipate safely.
