Coweta Woman Learns An Important Crime Prevention Lesson

A Coweta woman is calling a recent incident at a Tulsa area Walmart her own Christmas miracle.  Like many of us late last week, LaDonna Wilson was doing some last minute shopping.

"I could have lost our entire life, it's been a tough year for us too, I could have lost everything," said LaDonna Wilson.

It could have, but she didn't.

My story centers around a purse and a very patient young couple from Broken Arrow.

LaDonna had bought a cart full of stuff at Walmart and was in a hurry to get home.

"My mind was already distracted, because I needed to go to the restroom," said LaDonna Wilson.

So she raced home, started to unload the car and then.

"Oh my gosh, where's my purse," said LaDonna Wilson.

She did a quick search, but finally.

"I ran into the house 'cause I had to go to the bathroom," said LaDonna Wilson.

When she got into the house, the phone was ringing, but when nature calls you don't stop to answer the phone, if she had she's have heard this.

"My name is Steven Churchill, we found a purse in the Walmart parking lot, call me back at 918..."

Steven Churchill and his wife Jeanie, had been shopping at the same store. They found the purse in the cart where she'd left it.

Found a phone number inside, called and left a message.

They decided she must be on her way back so they waited and waited.

"30 or 45 minutes I guess," said Steven Churchill.

While she drove back, she thought of all the cards she'd have to cancel.

Panicking, LaDonna Wilson pulled in at Walmart and headed for the store's front doors.

"Ma'am are you LaDonna and she said yes I am," said Steven Churchill.

That was that, hugs and holiday wishes all around.

LaDonna Wilson calls it her Christmas miracle.
