Tulsa firefighters had to evacuate a downtown Tulsa apartment building early Thursday morning after a fire broke out on the third floor of the building.

The first alarm came in at 3:45 a.m. to the building near 4th and Boulder.

Firefighters say a second alarm was called in so firefighters could contain the fire to just the one building.

17 residents lived in the apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors and all got out safely.

Tulsa Fire believes the fire started because of an electrical problem in a wall on the third floor.

All of the apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors as well as two businesses on the first floor sustained smoke and water damage.
