Owasso Police Have Suspect In Fatal Hit And Run

Police are not yet releasing names but say a man confessed in Sunday's fatal hit and run along Garnett.

Owasso police have a suspect in Sunday's fatal hit and run. They received a tip leading them to the man after a description suspect vehicle was made public.

Police are not yet releasing the suspect's name but have conducted interviews. The man confessed, and the vehicle involved in the hit and run is in police custody, according to Sergeant Nick Boatman of the Owasso Police Department.

Boatman said the vehicle taken into custody for evidence processing is a Silver 2004 Ford Extended Cab pick-up truck.

Collinsville resident Darrell Glen Abadie, 39, was struck and killed as he was walking along Garnett near 126th Street North overnight Sunday, January 15, 2012. Police say he was last seen at midnight leaving a nearby business.

Abadie's body was discovered early Sunday morning, and OPD issued the description of the suspect vehicle that afternoon.

"We thank our community for the continuous tips of information that ultimately led to the identification of the suspect in this case," Boatman said.
