CARSON, California – Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne picked up MVP honors in the inaugural AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Saturday night in California.

Kinne's National squad beat the American squad 20-14 in the game, which is essentially an All-Star game for graduating college seniors and underclassmen who have declared for the 2012 NFL draft.

Kinne was 6-for-9 passing for 79 yards and also picked up a rushing touchdown that proved to be the difference in the game.

Washington kicker Erik Folk kicked an early field goal and Syracuse running back Antwon Bailey rushed for a touchdown to give Kinne's National team an early 14-0 lead.

The National team later recovered a fumble at the American 20-yard line, and Kinne rushed in the ensuing offensive snap to put his team up 17-0.

Folk would add another field goal and the National defense held the American offense to two touchdowns in the victory.

Dick Vermeil, who won an NFL title with the St. Louis Rams in 1999, was the coach for Kinne and the national team.

The 2012 NFL draft begins Thurs. Apr 26 in New York City.

Kinne is expected to either be selected in the final round of the draft or to sign on with a team as a free agent.
