TULSA, Oklahoma -- It's early afternoon on the University of Tulsa campus. In a small, second-floor classroom in Chapman Hall, Steven Idlet quickly scribbles down some notes on his stack of papers.

The fifth-year senior basketball player only has one course this semester. The history buff is enjoying his final year of college in a class focusing on Adolf Hitler's rise to power in Nazi Germany.

But, basketball is his focus.

The 6-foot-11 center is averaging 9.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game this year for Tulsa. After beating SMU on Saturday, the Golden Hurricane is now 6-2 and near the top of the Conference USA standings. Idlet has a shot at making the NCAA tournament for the first time in his career this March.

Every day is one step closer to that goal.

Idlet has a basketball-centric routine. I spent the day with him leading up to the Wednesday night home contest against Central Florida. From the training room to the classroom, I got an inside look at what it's like to be him for a day.
