A Tahlequah soldier deployed overseas can still read to his little girls while he's half a world away.

It's part of the United Through Reading program.

Specialist Patrick Perry is deployed with the 45th Infantry in Kuwait but he recorded this video of himself reading "The Little Engine That Could" and the book "Biscuits."

His wife Kim says these precious moments with dad have been a blessing for their girls, 4-year-old Sophia and 8-month-old Adalyn.

That's when the couple will get to celebrate a belated first wedding anniversary which happens to be today.

Happy Anniversary to them and thank you for your service.
