Why would someone spend hours creating a blanket to give to a perfect stranger? The creator of MyFleece Blankets says it's a mission of kindness.

Tammy McPherson has suffered through her own issues, and she knows how important it is to have something to hold on to.

"To help them get through the many hours of what they are going through," McPherson said.

She started back in 2001 and since then she's made hundreds of her MyFleece blankets. The blankets come in different sizes.

She watches the news and looks for people who need a blanket.

"If they done something super good, they get a blanket. If they lost someone, they get a blanket. I don't get to everyone," she said.

Sometimes people call her and ask her to create a blanket for someone special. Those blankets she sells, but she puts the money back into more material for the donated ones.

She has helpers she pays out of her own pocket. They do some of the cutting and sewing, but there is a lot that needs to be done.
