Pepsi has announced plans to cut 8,700 jobs world-wide. But a company spokesperson says there will be no impact to the Pepsi facility in Tulsa.
PepsiCo layoffs are largely managerial in nature, and will not affect beverage frontline-plant employees.
Pepsi's announcement comes after numbers from the US Labor Department show the economy gained 243,000 jobs in January. That knocked the unemployment rate down to 8.3 percent.
CNN is reporting Pepsi officials say over the last few years the company experienced an 8-percent annual growth in earnings per share.
With word of job cuts, CNN says Pepsi plans to spend more money on advertising and marketing with a particular focus on North America.
