An Oklahoma City metro teacher is suspended from teaching after being accused of raping a 17-year-old student.

The student told police he and teacher Lisa Kays had a sexual encounter five times, and he also told police some of them even happened at school.

Kays was arrested on the accusations Monday. She has since bonded out jail as investigators prepare to present their case to the District Attorney.

Students are speaking out in support of the high school teacher. Even before the school district officially announced the news, Lisa Kays was the talk of the Putnam City High School campus.

Every student News 9 spoke with on Tuesday says they do not believe the popular Spanish teacher did anything wrong. From Twitter, proposed T-shirts and word of mouth, students are crying foul on the arrest of Putnam City High School teacher Lisa Kays.

"She doesn't seem like the person to do that," student Colton Maston said.

Other students agree with Maston's opinion.

"It's really just been a rumor to me," student Auston King said. "She's doing things with students ... I don't really believe it."

The campus police of Putnam City Schools received a tip laying out the accusations against Kays. Students were then questioned by police with civilian school officials present. Police say there were five separate occasions where Kays engaged in something more than extra curricular activities with the male student. Those activities include sex and oral sex inside her classroom and car, according to police.

"Students are aware something [is] going on, but not everyone knows what's going on," Steve Lindley, Putnam City Schools spokesperson said.

By now, parents and students on social media sites should have pretty good idea of the news.

Under Twitter hashtag 'FreeMrsKays,' students are signing up takers for T-shirts in support of the teacher. Students are also tweeting that they believe they will get in trouble if they wear the shirts to school.

One of Kays' own students told News 9 that Kays was a good teacher and she is missed.

"We need her to help us learn our Spanish, and we aren't getting that right now," student Dawn Johnson said. "It's hard when your teachers are gone and you don't have anybody to teach you."

Many parents learned of the arrest late Tuesday. The school district says automated phone calls should reach parents Tuesday night or Wednesday. Police arrested Kays on Monday. The Oklahoma County jail says Kays posted a $125,000 bond and was released Monday night.
