The Tulsa Golden Hurricane was able to get one of two scheduled games in Saturday before the weather caused them to cancel events at the Aggie Classic, topping North Carolina State 4-0.

Lacy Middlebrooks was the key to the Golden Hurricane's success, pitching a complete-game shutout, giving up just six hits and striking out six in the win.

Tulsa capitalized on miscues from North Carolina State in the top of the fifth to being to build its lead. With runners on second and third, an error by the third baseman allowed Caitlin Everett to score from third and take a 1-0 lead and putting Samantha Cobb to advance to third. Two at-bats later, a wild pitch from Emily Weiman allowed Cobb to score from third and give TU a two-run advantage.

The mistakes continued to mount in the next inning. Julie Karen hit a leadoff single and advanced to third on a wild pitch two at-bats later. In the same at-bat, a throwing error at short stop allowed her to score and give the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Samantha Cobb capped things off in the top of the seventh with a leadoff homerun to take a four-run lead into the final half inning.

The tournament will continue Sunday, weather permitting, starting at 10 a.m. against the UTSA RoadRunners.
