SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -
A 17-year-old Tulsa runaway was rushed to a Tulsa hospital after she lost control of an SUV during a police chase on the Sand Springs Expressway early Monday morning.
Sand Springs Police say the chase began just after 1 a.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop in the downtown area.
After getting on the expressway the teenager attempted to pass a semi tractor trailer, but the driver lost control, causing the SUV to roll into the center median, according to police.
Police say the teen was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital after telling officer she had swallowed a packet containing meth.
A male passenger, identified as 29-year-old Wilbert Moore Jr., was arrested at the scene on several outstanding traffic warrants and a state warrant for harboring a runaway.
