Tulsa Police with assistance from the Northeast Oklahoma Fugitive Task Force arrested a 22-year-old man early Monday who they say badly beat his girlfriend, then poured bleach on her and her two children in April 2011.

Curtis Barber was arrested at 1:15 a.m. at a home in the 6300 block of East 9th.

According to court records, Barber got upset at his girlfriend after he could not find a pair of shoes she had bought for him.  After beating her, Barber poured bleach on her and her 1-year-old and 2-month-old children, according to police.

He was booked into the Tulsa County jail on charges of domestic assault and battery, maiming, kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

A court hearing is set for February 29, 2012.
