A head-on collision one mile north of Hallett, Okla., claimed the life of a Cleveland, Okla., man on Friday night.

Andrew Baker, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was ejected from his 1996 Chrysler Seibring convertible on Oklahoma 99 in Pawnee County.

Baker was northbound on Oklahoma 99 when, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, he entered oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes.

Jeffery Main II, 21, of Skiatook, was southbound in a 2004 Ford F-350 and tried to avoid a collision by entering the northbound lane, but Baker corrected and re-entered the northbound lane, causing a head-on collision.

Main was transported to Cushing Regional Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, the report said.
