How A Normal Sunny Day Can Quickly Turn Into A Struggle For Survival

Posted: Updated:
A STORY WE'RE WORKING ON...

They can happen whether you’re young or old, man, woman, or child: heat strokes. And what many don’t realize is that it will change your life forever.

17-year-old Grove softball standout Stephanie Wilburn recalls the moment her body stopped producing sweat and going gray in the face…and it just went downhill from there. Stephanie continues to struggle outdoors – and will for the rest of her life – with tasks as simple as walking from one building to another in the heat.

But Chief Meteorologist David Payne warns, it’s not just student athletes that are at risk and you don’t even have to be doing something active. David is working on this story and will have the complete report, tonight at 10:00 on News 9.
