It was a political fundraiser for a Democrat.

The keynote speaker: Ann Coulter, who supports Mitt Romney, a Republican.

She sees the irony, she said.

"If Randall Terry does beat Barack Obama in the primary, I will be torn."

Activist and author Randall Terry says he probably won't beat President Obama, but believes he has the power to split the Democratic vote.

"My message tonight is please give money," Terry said. "Because while I can't defeat Obama in the primary, I can cause his defeat in the general [election]. And that's my mission."

Terry believes Americans should drill for oil within our own borders and become less dependent on foreign oil.

He's known best for his political ads that show graphic images of aborted fetuses.

"It's their voice," Terry said. "The baby can't cry for help -- can't say, 'Oh, please don't kill me.'"

Terry supports making abortions illegal, and his ads spark controversy.

Coulter says people should be really be offended by abortion, not the commercials.

"I never understand that," Coulter said. "People who show the picture of what's being done -- we're not the ones doing it. We're the ones trying to stop it."

The fundraiser attracted a handful of protesters who support a woman's right to choose.

They shared their concerns with the candidate.

Opponent Ann Kent said: "It's in our Constitution as to what they can do with their bodies, and so be it. Let's get back to finding jobs for Americans. That's our real issue here."

Supporter Robert Dombrow said: "I really admire him for standing up and being ready to take whatever flak or whatever will come his way to defend these little people."

Terry doesn't shy away from political disagreements and says instead, he's doing just the opposite: starting a conversation within the Democratic Party.

Again, Oklahoma's Democratic and Republican primaries are Tuesday.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
